TAP Scholarship
TAP’s Juan Rodrigo Rodriguez Memorial Scholarship Fund was developed to honor the memory of Lance Cpl. Juan Rodriguez, who was kill in action January 13, 2005 in Iraq. Juan was a 23-year old Marine reservist assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 23rd Marines, based in Corpus Christi. After completing his basic training for the Marines in 2001, Juan went to work for L. Buffalo Pawn in Laredo. Bob Simpson, owner of L. Buffalo Pawn and long time member of TAP, remembers Juan as his hardest working, least complaining, and a most trustworthy employee. According to Mr. Simpson, when Juan was activated to serve his country, he did so proudly and with honor.
